Project Unity engagement today at 2 - 4 pm

Monday 10th August, the Project unity office, Victoria Park Road, Fairfield, was open between 2 – 4 pm.

The purpose of this regular engagement is to invite the public in to discuss any housing issues or anti-social behaviour occurring in the area. Making it easier to access your local police and housing

We would like to thank the people who took the time to engage with us yesterday afternoon, the subject of anti-social off road and electric bikes is still a bone of contention, and last night officers from the local neighbourhood team were on Fairfield after further reports of this type of nuisance.

Where it is illegal: Riding on public footpaths, parks, common land, or roads without tax, insurance, a license, and an MOT breaks the Road Traffic Act.

Police powers: Officers have the authority to seize vehicles being driven carelessly, dangerously, or anti-socially.

Parental liability: Parents can be prosecuted and face points on their own driving license if they allow or buy these bikes for minors to ride illegally in public.

When addresses related to this ASB are identified, we will also look to work with partner agencies.
